Navigating the approval process for building projects can be complex, but at Dev & Co Building Surveyors, we streamline it into clear, manageable steps. Here’s how we ensure a smooth and efficient journey from initial inquiry to project completion.
We will review your inquiry and provide a detailed proposal outlining our services and associated fees. Upon your acceptance of the proposal, you can confirm your agreement via email or phone.
Complete the necessary application form for a Building Permit. Download the form from our website and submit it along with the required documentation, as detailed in our application checklist, to info@devandco.com.au. Along with your application, please remit a 50% payment of the total fees.
Once we receive your application and payment, our team will thoroughly assess your application. During this phase, we may request additional information or documentation. Once all requirements are met, we will proceed with the next steps.
After assessing your application, we will email you an invoice for the remaining fees. Upon receiving the final payment, we will finalize your Building Permit and send you the stamped documentation.
With your Building Permit issued, you are ready to start construction. Ensure you adhere to all specified conditions and guidelines.

- Email info@devandco.com.au with your preferred date and time, type of inspection, project address, and contact details
- Call our office at 1300 012 789 with at least 24 hours’ notice
After the final inspection, submit all required compliance certificates to us. These may include certificates for:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Waterproofing
- Insulation
- Glazing
- Termite treatment
Once all inspections are approved and compliance certificates are submitted, we will issue your Occupancy Permit or Certificate of Final Inspection. We will email these documents to you and the relevant council, completing the approval process.
